First Year Of Recovery
Participants in Renovatus' program commit to growing in a Christ-centered life by fully engaging in four key areas of support: Christian Discipleship, Home, Life Skills, and Community.
The program begins by providing a safe, drug- and alcohol-free place to live. Housing is located at Renovatus, where participants are considered guests, not tenants. This is not a sublease to individuals or families, and the typical residency period is twelve months.
During their stay, participants are expected to either participate in the job training program on the Renovatus farm or seek employment in the community when they are ready.
Each week, Renovatus offers Planning 101 sessions, where participants set goals and discuss their progress. The program promotes a balanced lifestyle that includes work, learning, and recreational activities.
Participants must attend weekly worship services at Crossroads Community Church or other local participating churches in the program, participate in morning devotions, and engage in Celebrate Recovery and other Biblically-based studies as part of the discipleship process.
Renovatus also assists participants in creating a personalized budget, which they are required to follow. Participants must open both checking and savings accounts with online banking capabilities and provide proof of all income. Bank accounts and budgets are reviewed weekly by Renovatus.
In addition to financial responsibility, participants are required to attend life skills training, biblically-based counseling sessions, and team mentor meetings. These include Anger Management, parenting, and financial classes, along with other work skill courses.
The only acceptable reason for missing any of these commitments is illness, and participants must notify Pete or Beth Higgs before the service, class, or meeting.
Second Year of Recovery
After successfully completing one year of residency at Renovatus, participants transition to living independently in their own home, taking full responsibility for their expenses. They will sign their own lease, but Renovatus continues to offer support in the areas of Discipleship, Life Skills, and Community.
